Point Walter Recreation and Conference Centre welcomes schools, community and corporate groups to enjoy a variety of outdoor recreation programs, accommodation, conferencing and event options. We are conveniently located 20 minutes from the Perth CBD and 10 minutes from Fremantle's heritage architecture, fantastic restaurants and hotels.

Point Walter Recreation and Conference Centre is a beautiful facility that overlooks the Swan River and the city of Perth. Point Walter provides fantastic opportunities for outdoor recreation programs as well as modern and functional facilities for any group whether on a school or community camp, conference, workshop or private function. Point Walter aims to be inclusive throughout its accommodation and program facilities and is recognised by the You’re Welcome WA Access Initiative.

The location

Point Walter is located at 1 Stock Rd, Bicton overlooking the Swan River and the Point Walter Reserve, located approximately 12km south of Perth and 7km north-east of Fremantle.

Accommodation

Set amongst well maintained grounds, the accommodation is modern and functional and can sleep up to 124 people in six blocks. There are 31 rooms with a maximum capacity of four bunk beds per room.

Accolade Catering is the licensed provides of catering services at Point Walter Recreation and Conference Centre and provide a diverse range of menus to service your group.

No self-catering is allowed at this site.

Recreation programs 

Outdoor recreation programs are the foundation of what Point Walter provides to the community. Since 1996, structured programs have been offered at Point Walter. They have evolved to contain 13 distinct recreation programs, with an additional range of program variations, training packages, workplace adventures and custom developed programs.

Disability access and inclusive programs

Point Walter Recreation and Conference Centre aims to be inclusive through its programs and facilities. All accommodation and dining areas around the centre can be accessed by hard surface paths and ramps and universal access shower and toilet facilities are available in all accommodation and function room areas.

Some recreation programs (abseiling, flying fox, archery and paddling) can be modified to suit various disability. With the use of special equipment, we are able to manage any risks and ensure all participants can share the experience and enjoy their time during the program.

Any group with special requirements should arrange a site tour before booking the facility to ensure the site is suitable and to discuss options when booking programs. This can be arranged by calling 08 9492 9784.

The Point Walter Centre is recognized by the You’re Welcome WA Access Initiative which assists people with disability, their families and carers to find all the accurate, detailed and easy to understand access information necessary to make decisions about which businesses, community services and facilities meet their specific requirements. Department of Education guidelines

Most adventure recreation programs at Point Walter meet or exceed the Department of Education’s Guidelines for Outdoor Education and Recreation Activities. In consideration of specific environments at the site, variations from the department’s guidelines exist to increase safety.
