A night time photo of Leederville oval with new light towers in the background

Formerly known as Leederville Oval, the stadium is a premier football ground and home to the East Perth and Subiaco Football Clubs.

The upgrades to the historic ground involved:

  • installation of a new playing surface
  • new irrigation
  • installation of broadcast quality lighting
  • replacement of goals posts, in-ground sleeves and boundary fence
  • installation of above-ground dugouts
  • installation of synthetic grass on the western boundary

The improved lighting raises the quality to broadcast standard and will allow WAFL and WAFLW matches to be played at night, providing more fixture options for the 2025 season. It also enables the ground to host AFLW matches, pre-season and other AFL matches in the future.

The project cost just over $5.2 million, with the WA Government contributing $3.8 million, plus $232,000 through the Club Night Lights Program.

The City of Vincent, AFL, WA Football Commission, Subiaco and East Perth Football Clubs contributed the remaining $1.2 million to the project.
