The projects include the re-development and upgrade of the Piara Waters Library, Burtonia Gardens in Piara Waters and Yellowwood Park in Harrisdale.

Completed in August, the Piara Waters Library re-development received $1 million in funding towards the construction of a recreational youth space.

The youth space includes the following features:

• multiplayer/gaming area
• immersive creative zone including computer with innovative software
• audio visual, film making, podcasting and music production equipment
• live zone with lounge area and kitchen.

There are also areas for collaboration and quiet reflection, alongside community meeting rooms which are available for hire. Together with a contribution from the City of Armadale, the total cost of the project was $9.3 million.

Funding of $400,000 went towards creating a family-friendly recreational space for the Piara Waters community with a focus on youth-orientated equipment and park amenities at Burtonia Gardens. Total cost of the project was $480,000 including City of Armadale funds.

Works were recently completed and include:

• installation of a cricket net
• improvements to existing basketball amenities
• new playground equipment with additional shade
• new shelter and picnic areas
• drink fountain and barbecue
• new connecting pathways
• landscaping and trees.

Work is also now complete on Yellowwood Park improvements which creates a family friendly recreational space for the Harrisdale community, with a focus on youth-orientated spaces and equipment. The WA Government contributed the total cost of $200,000.

The Yellowwood Park improvements include:

• youth focused park upgrade
• new parkour fitness area
• turf mound hang out spaces
• study pods
• outdoor hammocks
• new park amenities
• improved landscapes and new trees
• better-connected pathways.
