BetStop is the national gambling self-exclusion register, which allows individuals to block themselves from all licensed Australian online and phone gambling providers. You can register at any time. The service is free and provided by the Australian government. Once you register, online and phone gambling providers cannot let you place a bet, open new betting accounts, or send you marketing messages.
Several charities and other groups in Western Australia use professional fundraisers to conduct raffles on their behalf. The commission has recently reviewed the fees that these fundraisers are permitted to charge, which currently stands at 77% of funds raised. Effective from 1 January 2024, the maximum take will be reduced to 70%.
