Construction of Kalgoorlie Boulder’s new basketball courts is bouncing towards completion in 2024, thanks to State Government investment of $5 million. Premier Roger Cook and Minister for Sport and Recreation David Templeman have visited the Brookman Street site to inspect works underway after demolition of the old outdoor courts and offices.

The total cost of the project is $12.9 million with $3 million from the Australian Government, $4.4 million as part of the Building Better Regions Fund and $500,000 from the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. A financial assistance agreement has been drafted between the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and the Kalgoorlie Boulder Basketball Association for the Government of Western Australia’s $5 million contribution.
The next milestone is demolition of the Outridge Terrace Road Reserve, set to start in August 2023. Overall construction is due for completion in mid-2024.
