The Original Trophy, which will be awarded to the winning team of the FIFA Women's World Cup™ 2023, will be on display from noon today at Forrest Place before travelling to Busselton tomorrow, Kununurra on Sunday 9 July and Broome on Monday 10 July.

The trophy tour celebrations include a chance to have your photo taken with the Original Trophy, get autographs from female football heroes — including Perth Glory Captain Tash Rigby and FIFA Ambassador Aya Miyama — and enjoy a kickabout on the mini-pitch.

The tour comes ahead of one of the biggest football tournaments in Western Australia's history, with five blockbuster Perth-based matches as part of the tournament:

• 22 July: Denmark v People's Republic of China
• 26 July: Republic of Ireland v Canada
• 29 July: Panama v Jamaica
• 1 August: Haiti v Denmark
• 3 August: Morocco v Colombia.

Excitement for football fans will continue throughout the month-long tournament, with Forrest Place transforming into a fan festival hub where fans can enjoy live matches, music and performances, football activations and food and beverages.

The State Government, through Tourism WA, is proud to support the FIFA Women's World Cup™, investing $35 million to deliver upgrades to the match venue — Perth Rectangular Stadium.

Upgrades to the Perth Rectangular Stadium include:

• installation of 9500m²  of hybrid turf in line with FIFA specifications, providing a state-of-the-art playing surface
• installation of 294 new LED lights ensuring the stadium is ready for camera action, meeting FIFA's TV broadcast standards
• new larger high-definition video boards
• revamped changing rooms and a new tunnel for players to enter the pitch
• accessibility improvements to the ground.

The matches are expected to attract thousands of out-of-state visitors and inject millions of dollars into the WA economy while showcasing WA to a global audience of up to 2 billion.
