• The State Football Centre, which is jointly funded by the State and Commonwealth governments, vested with DLGSC’s VenuesWest.
• Football West will manage the venue alongside VenuesWest in a new co-management partnership.
• Both parties excited to collaborate on the management of the venue especially ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.

With just 4 months until kick off, the State Government today announced that the facility will be vested with the State Government’s venue management agency VenuesWest.

The centre is located on a 16 hectare site and includes a two-storey building with a grandstand, 2 competition pitches and training pitches, on-site parking and three 5-a-side playing pitches.

The $45.96 million investment has been jointly funded by State and Commonwealth governments, with the $25.42 million contribution by the State Government funded through the WA Recovery Plan.

The vestment of the venue with VenuesWest, brings the number of venues in their portfolio to 14, with this venue the first to be solely dedicated to the ‘beautiful game’.

Football West will manage the day-to-day running of the venue, including the management of commercial sponsorships. VenuesWest will own the asset on behalf of the State Government and assist Football West through the co-management agreement and oversee ongoing maintenance of the asset.

The arrangement means that Football West now has a space in the State that the sport can call home.

International and A League football matches will continue to be held at HBF Park or Optus Stadium, with the occasional lower-capacity special event to be held at the State Football Centre.

The Department of Local, Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) has been managing the development at Queens Park Open Space since construction commenced work on the 16 hectare site in February 2022.

VenuesWest, now has 14 sites vested with it, with this venue the first to be solely dedicated to the ‘beautiful game’.  It's looking forward to adding another world class high performance sporting venue to its portfolio and is committed to supporting the growth of the sport in the State through optimisation of the venue.

The State Football Centre is expected to be 1 of 2 venue specific training sites used by teams competing in the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.
