Intro
As well as working in collaboration with the artists, DLGSC has contributed funding through the Contemporary Music Fund.
Renowned WA musician, Abbe May will open the Grand Final entertainment with a spectacular musical moment of celebration. Homegrown legends Birds of Tokyo will be performing during the coveted half time spot, sharing the stage with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra.
A WA Supergroup featuring Stella Donnelly, John Butler, Vikki Thorn and Donna Simpson from The Waifs as well as renowned Noongar musician Gina Williams accompanied by Guy Ghouse will perform Aussie Anthems as part of the pre-game entertainment. They will be followed by much loved WA band, Eskimo Joe.
The Welcome to Country will be provided by one of Australia’s most esteemed Aboriginal performers, Noongar man Dr Richard Walley.
Noongar performers, YABU Band, and Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse will perform at separate Grand Final events on the day.
Other performers include Soprano Amy Manford who will perform the National Anthem.
About 100 Western Australian dancers, musicians and instrumentalists will add to the on-stage entertainment from the grounds of the Optus Stadium in a true Western Australian spectacular.
For fans unable to get a seat at Optus Stadium, Perth will still be the place to be with the stunning WA Museum Boola Bardip hosting a Grand Final Football Breakfast in the lead-up to Grand Final day.
