Annual returns  

DLGSC reminds all council members, and designated employees, of their obligations to provide an annual return by 31 August 2021.

Failure to lodge the return is a serious breach of the Local Government Act 1995.

Annual budget  

Local governments should adopt their annual budget by 31 August (if they haven’t already done so, or sought an extension), and provide a copy to annual.budget@dlgsc.wa.gov.au

Local government elections  

Key dates for the upcoming local government elections, that local governments should make their communities aware of:  

• 2 September 2021 — nominations open
• 9 September 2021 — close of nominations
• 16 October 2021 — election day.
