The Getting the Show Back on the Road+ (formerly Getting the Show Back on the Road) program is part of a $76 million State Government Recovery Plan for culture and the arts.
It was introduced in November last year to support WA's vibrant live events industry, which was hit hard by the impact of COVID-19.
Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman announced that the program would now include applications to support tourism events and regional agricultural shows.
The Getting the Show Back on the Road+ program enables event organisers to apply for up to 75 per cent of ticket sales lost due to the impacts of COVID-19, to a maximum of $150,000. It also allows for payments to assist with event rescheduling.
Since it was introduced, the program has received over 156 applications and provided more than $5.3 million in shared-risk support to impacted events.
The expanded program will be administered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, in partnership with Tourism WA and the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.
Applications for the expanded program are open now, until 17 February 2022, for activities until the end of March 2022.
