Local governments are playing a key role in the economic and social recovery of WA following the COVID-19 health crisis, and now they’ll be central to restoring the State’s vibrant local events scene.
An announcement by the State Government on 25 September has seen local governments become responsible for approving COVID Event Guidelines and Plans, for public or private events involving more than 500 people.
It is anticipated that the process will ensure event organisers play their role in keeping WA communities COVID free, and that event-goers will have increased confidence to attend.
The Creative Communities COVID-19 Recovery Program is now open and local governments are welcome to apply.
The program provides funding for artist-in-residence projects that engage local communities. Projects should be delivered in partnership with artists and either a local government, local school, not-for-profit community organisation or not-for-profit community services organisation.
