Information on the reforms, including a guide for local governments and auditors, is provided in Circular 16-2017, which is available on the Department's website.
In accordance with the Amendment Act, a list of audit contract expiry dates will be published on the Department's website. This information is currently being finalised and is expected to be available by the end of the year.
The Department is also finalising the supporting regulations, which includes amendments to the Local Government (Audit) Regulations 1996 and Local Government (Financial Management) Regulations 1996.
