Gazetted Extended Trading
The Director of Liquor Licensing understands that certain times of the year bring increased demand for packaged liquor or liquor consumption on licensed premises, along with community expectations to access these premises.
This is particularly true for public holiday long weekends.
As in previous years, the Director of Liquor Licensing (DLL) has determined that extended trading hours will be permitted on the following dates in 2025 without licensees having to lodge an Extended Trading Permit (ETP):
- Liquor stores, hotels and taverns in regional areas will be permitted to sell packaged liquor on and from the licensed premises from 10am to 10pm on:
- 26 January 2025
- 2 March 2025
- 20 April 2025
- 1 June 2025
- 28 September 2025
- 14, 21 and 28 December 2025.
- Liquor stores, hotels and taverns in the metropolitan area will be permitted to sell packaged liquor from 8am to 10am on 14, 21 and 28 December 2025.
- Hotels, taverns and small bars are permitted to trade for consumption on the licensed premises from 6am to 10am on Mother’s Day (11 May) and Father’s Day (7 September), providing the sale of liquor during these times is ancillary to a meal.
Licensees and staff must still adhere to all other conditions of their licence, including the responsible service of alcohol and Banned Drinker Area scanning where applicable, during these gazetted dates.
Premises in regional WA where liquor restrictions are in place are excluded from the above gazetted dates and will need to still apply for an ETP, which will be considered on its merits.
