New online portal helping more children and young people speak up
DLGSC has launched a new child friendly complaints webpage to provide children and young people with a dedicated online space to speak up and make a complaint about a DLGSC operated or funded service or program.
The new page includes:
- an online form for a child or young person to submit a concern or complaint (or an adult on behalf of a child or young person)
- an easy read child-friendly complaints policy and procedure
- accessible information on speaking up and making a complaint.
These were all designed using feedback from children and young people in local government youth advisory groups.
These initiatives, led by DLGSC’s Child Safeguarding Implementation Unit, are building our child safeguarding practices and processes to make sure we are promoting and protecting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
It is all part of our priority to ensure every Western Australian can live safely and free from harm.
