Applications now open for sport and recreation events funding
The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) is pleased to announce that applications for its Sport and Recreation Events Funding Program are now open
The program offers crucial financial support to sport and active recreation organisations, allowing them to plan, secure, and execute a diverse range of sports and mass participation events throughout Western Australia.
The funding provided through this program aims to boost tourism from both interstate and overseas visitors, showcasing Western Australia's unique offerings in arts, culture, sports, and Aboriginal attractions to a global audience.
Grant amounts of up to $50,000 are available, divided into 3 distinct categories to cater to various event needs:
- Event Projects: Funding support for specific sports and recreation projects.
- Event Hosting: Assistance for organisations hosting sports events.
- Country Sport Enrichment Scheme: Focusing on enhancing sports opportunities in regional areas.
Applications close at 5:00 pm (AWST) on Monday, 25 August 2024.
