Feb 28, 2024, 00:00 AM

The Aboriginal Cultural Centre (ACC) Steering Committee for Phase 2 held its fifth meeting on 28 February 2024.

The meeting focussed on the progress of the Project Definition Plan (PDP) and the work being carried out to complete the necessary work before it is submitted in November 2024.

Risk management

A risk register has been developed and the first risk workshop was held in late 2023.

First Nations workforce capacity building

The Steering Committee noted the importance of First Nations workforce capacity building and connecting with the Department of Training and Workforce Development.

Cultural narrative

Representatives from Aboriginal Promotions and Productions presented the Cultural Narrative for the ACC site. A cultural narrative is an adapted means of storytelling using qualitative Noongar cultural research and western research methods. The cultural narrative describes what is unique about that place and people. It recognises the histories of people who have cultural authority over the land, sacred places, and interactions with the land.
