Latest funding round to elevate sporting and recreational events in WA

The Department of Local Government, Sport, and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) has opened its latest round of grant applications for its Sport and Recreation Events Funding Program

The program provides vital financial support to sport and active recreation organisations, enabling them to plan, secure and execute a diverse range of sports and mass participation events across WA.

Funding provided through the program provides an opportunity to increase tourism from both interstate and overseas visitors and showcase WA’s unique offerings in arts, culture, sports, and Aboriginal attractions to a global audience.

Grant amounts of up to $50,000 are available, which are divided into 3 distinct categories, catering to various event needs:

  1. Event Projects: Funding support for specific sports and recreation projects.
  2. Event Hosting: Assistance for organisations hosting sports events.
  3. Country Sport Enrichment Scheme: Focusing on enhancing sports opportunities in regional areas.

Applications close 5:00pm (AWST) on Monday, 26 February 2024.
