Cemeteries Act and Cremations Act Review
The public, community groups, industry and government bodies are invited to comment on a discussion paper released as part of a review of the Cemeteries Act 1976 and the Cremation Act 1929 (the Review), now available on the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries’ website.
In particular, the local government sector’s views are sought on:
- management of cemeteries
- regulation of forms and fees
- licencing of funeral directors and monumental masons.
The 3-month consultation also provides an opportunity for the public, community groups, industry and government bodies to provide meaningful feedback on the Review.
