Australian National Flag at half-mast
Wednesday 12 October 2022, 20th anniversary of the Bali bombings.
Wednesday 12 October 2022 marks 20 years since the 2002 bombing attacks in Bali.
Memorial services to honour the anniversary will be held around Australia, including a National Service at Parliament House in Canberra. The Indonesian Government and local communities in Bali will also hold commemorative events.
As a mark of mourning to those who lost their lives in Bali, including 88 Australians, the Australian National Flag should be flown at half-mast all day on Wednesday 12 October 2022 from all buildings and establishments occupied by Western Australian Government departments and affiliated agencies. Other organisations are encouraged to participate.
In accordance with flag protocol, all flags and ensigns at each flag station should be flown at half-mast during daylight hours. However, should it be the custom to fly the flags of other nations at your flag station, it would be appropriate to seek permission from the diplomatic representatives of that nation to half-mast their flag.
