State Government shines light on outdoor recreation
The State Government is investing $400,000 to encourage more Western Australians to get active outdoors.
Eligible recreation, sporting and community organisations, not-for-profits and local governments can apply for grants between $5000 and $50,000.
The Outdoor Active Recreation Participation Program will support innovative projects that increase participation and promote inclusion in outdoor active recreation.
At the same time, State active recreational organisations will now be able to apply for inclusion in the State Government's new recognition framework.
Those approved as the pre-eminent organisation representing a particular recreational activity in WA such as bushwalking, trail riding or climbing, will get access to greater support, workshops and training, among other benefits.
Both initiatives are being administered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
Grant applications close Monday 28 March 2022.
