Mandurah Bowling and Recreation Club making bowls a game for all
The Targeted Participation Program is continuing to provide funding for organisations to promote participation and active engagement of communities in sport and active recreation.
Mandurah Bowling and Recreation Club have recently delivered their Bowls-For-All program after receiving a Targeted Participation Program (TPP) grant from the DLGSC.
The club facilitated the Bowls-For-All project to engage the aged and vulnerable members of the Mandurah population who may have been isolated due to COVID-19.
The project saw 60 to 80 participants come together each week to play bowls, with 40 club volunteers assisting with tuition and coaching.
Among the many successes from the program was the club gaining at least 20 new full members and also a number of social members.
The TPP provides funding for organisations to promote participation and active engagement of Western Australian communities in sport and active recreation.
Applications to the TPP are open in rounds throughout the year. If your sporting club or recreational organisation would like to discuss a potential project with us, please feel free to contact the Peel or South West office.
