Identification of potential areas for off-road vehicles
The Off-Road Vehicle Advisory Committee is asking local governments to identify areas that could be considered for formal gazetting for off-road vehicle (ORV) use.
This may include areas that are already being used informally, or those that are ORV approved areas for local governments, but not gazetted by State Government.
Any sites identified or proposed will be assessed by the advisory committee in consultation with the local government and relevant stakeholder groups.
Following the assessment process, recommendations will be made to the Local Government Minister for consideration.
The Off-Road Vehicle Advisory Committee meet monthly, with a priority to identify new sites and improve maintenance of existing sites.
More information on off-road vehicles and the administration of the Control of Vehicles (Off-Road Areas) Act 1978 is available on the department's website.
